Planning a Ramadan campaign your community can see

Ramadan concentrates a year's generosity into thirty nights. A visible target, a frictionless way to give, and the last ten nights handled well make all the difference.

Set one target and make it visible

The strongest Ramadan campaigns are specific: a renovation costed at £80,000, a new madrassah wing, a year of utility bills. A single concrete number outperforms a general appeal because progress toward it can be seen — and seen progress recruits more givers.

Digital giving makes the running total live. Announce it at taraweeh, show it on a screen, post it in the WhatsApp group each morning. Communities rally to a bar that's filling up.

Open every route to give

During Ramadan your community is split between the masjid and home — iftars, work, travel. The campaign has to reach both. In the building: QR codes at the entrance, by the iftar tables, on the taraweeh handout. At home: the same donation link in every reminder message, so the family who prayed at home can give the moment the reminder lands.

Fund separation matters more in Ramadan than any other month, because this is when Zakat flows. Donors need certainty that Zakat marked as Zakat stays Zakat — a digital fund selection provides it, and gives your committee the separated records to prove it.

Design for the last ten nights

Giving concentrates enormously in the final nights as the community seeks Laylatul Qadr. Many donors now schedule nightly giving across all ten nights to be certain of catching it. Support this explicitly: publicise the option, suggest amounts, and make the setup take a minute.

Expect your traffic peak between midnight and fajr in those nights — another argument for digital rails that don't depend on a volunteer with a bucket being awake.

After Eid: close the loop

The campaign isn't finished until the community hears the result. Announce the final total, show what it funded, and thank the givers collectively. This transparency is the seed of next year's campaign — a community that saw last year's amanah honoured gives more readily the next time.

With digital records, the wrap-up report takes minutes rather than weeks: totals by fund, Gift Aid captured, week-by-week progress. Share it, archive it, and let it raise the bar for next Ramadan.
